About
Angela Pond

Counsellor - Coach - Retreat Facilitator- Author

Connecting the Disconnected.

From Broken to Wholehearted.

Angela Pond started her young adult years as a dreamer hoping to make the sporting stage of Swimming and Surf Life Saving, when injury closed that door the dream died and so did her hope. It was not until her 40's she realised that a dreamless direction was contributing to her mental, emotional and physical pain along with not understanding the importance of grieving the losses in life to move beyond feeling broken to wholeheartedly embracing the complexity of a world full of competing loves.

Married to Michael a former Olympic Kayak Coach and Co Founder of Prime100 Pet Food, competition was a way of life in sport and business. They understand when the driving passion is from personal pain, like a double edge sword it can cut deep into the core of questioning our value and worth when the race is over.

Despite these challenges she believes that sport and business played from a position of purpose, can equip us with the discipline, focus, and life long friendships. When our family foundations are secure and we know that we are deeply valued for our humanity, our best performances shine when we know we are loved rather than from fear of failure and disappointing others and ourselves.

'Swimming Upstream'

Seduced by self-deception, liberated by love.

A story about transformation and healing.

The Book

Angela narrates a familiar story for many young aspiring athletes. Her dreams of becoming a sports star do not materialise, only to be left with heavy shadow of depression, followed by trauma and family secrets. These secrets shook her once confident perception of the world she lived in and opened a doorway to doubting what and who she could trust.

Her desire for truth led her to seeking answers in the library of self-help and the gurus of the New Age. Yet in her darkest moments Jesus shows up unexpectedly in her lounge room inviting her on an adventure that would cost her everything to gain the prize she longed for - to be whole in body, soul and spirit.

"This is the sort of book you want to buy lots of copies of and leave around the city for struggling strangers to find. There are many life lessons within these pages, but ultimately encouragement and hope."

Anonymous

"Angela provides handholds in the dark for many spiritual, emotional and physical struggles by sharing her private wars and wins. This is a significant autobiography for anyone who values authenticity and who is looking for keys to truly thrive."

Aimee Talbot

"I could not put this book down. Angela speaks very honestly about her life and the trauma she experienced and the consequences of that. Yet, it is not too graphic, and is laced with hope. "
